What made you want to collaborate with Pottery Barn Kids to create such a fantastic home collection?
I have always been such a fan of the Pottery Barn brands. They are so well-known and iconic and have been a part of my life and so many of my households for many years. Collaborating with them was truly an honor!
What was the inspiration for this dreamy collection, and how did you incorporate your personal style in these Pottery Barn Kids pieces?
My boys were a huge inspiration throughout this process. Their bedrooms are very dream-like, and I wanted to be a part of this collaboration, especially with the bedding and linens.
What would you say was the most challenging when designing this collection?
I’d have to say the most challenging part of designing this collection was editing down the pieces! Everything was just so cute; I wanted it all.
No doubt, Skyler and Kaius have the coolest bedrooms. How did you draw inspiration from the space you created for your boys when designing your collection?
I had my boys in mind the whole time when working on this collaboration – from the inspiration all the way to choosing the final pieces. It’s so important when designing for kids that there is a balance of keeping the room chic but also comfortable.
What would you say is a decorative must-have for every kid’s bedroom?
I like to keep the investment pieces neutral and then decorate around those items with luxe textures and metallic accents. I like things to be interesting and unique, but to maintain a feeling of timelessness.
What are decorating “don’ts” for parents trying to build a beautiful bedroom space?
I love that now we can decorate children’s rooms as we do our own. There are lots of options in the mid-century style that look incredible in a child’s room but still feel appropriate. My decorating advice would be not to focus on current trends but build a room with neutral, timeless pieces and add in some fun trendy pieces like .our feathered mirror or fringe chandelier lamp.
