One Unique Feature Sets This Remote Learning Platform Apart

It’s hard to believe we are coming up on a year of at-home learning, quarantine, and perhaps the biggest life shift many of us will ever experience. As parents, we’ve struggled with balancing everything that comes with this new normal while at the same time looking for resources to support our kids with their education. As a parenting editor, I’ve had the opportunity to try out a few of these resources with my own kids, and the most recent platform we tried, Adventure 2 Learning, is unlike any other.

Right away, the one thing that made Adventure 2 Learning stand out is its live classes. My kids are currently in blended learning, meaning they go into school one or two days a week and do the rest of their learning online. Earlier in the pandemic, their school was completely online and offered a mix of live and pre-recorded classes. Both of my boys were struggling and had said more than once that they missed their classmates and teachers, even though they were “seeing” them every day. Clearly, what they missed was the live instruction and personal attention they got in the classroom.

When I introduced Adventure 2 Learning to my boys, they were intrigued by the live classes, and my 5-year-old kept asking: “Can they see me?” He’s so used to pre-recorded lessons that the idea of having a teacher interact with him in real-time was exciting. He opted to try Daily Dance Break class, where kids listen to Kidz Bop songs and show off their latest dance moves. He enjoyed the silliness of it, and I was happy to see him being active.

My 8-year-old was more interested in trying the traditional classes at first. This year, at his school, he was introduced to more complex math like multiplication, division, and fractions and was definitely having difficulty grasping some of the concepts. The Real World Math class was a fun and informative way for my son to brush up on his skills using real-life scenarios. But, he was totally pumped about the Because of You class, which featured characters from his favorite movie, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, to teach about kindness, mindfulness, and the impact of their words.

There are several live classes each week on the platform, and you can find them by logging into the Adventure 2 Learning live site. There, you will see a feed of everything that’s offered that day and for the weeks ahead. You can even ask questions about the specific classes and get a timely response from the instructor. The Zoom link and option to RSVP are also right on the feed, which is a huge convenience.

Adventure 2 Learning is an excellent resource for kids to learn in real-time or at their own pace. Overall, my kids found the videos fun, and it was a nice break from the monotony they are so used to from their regular classes. As a parent, it was great to see them learning while moving their bodies, and I absolutely loved that they had the option to choose out-of-the-box classes about mindfulness and kindness.

We will definitely continue to use the platform, especially during the winter when it’s harder for us to get outside. If you’re interested in trying it out for your own kids, Adventure 2 Learning is offering special discounts on three-, six-, and 12-month plans for Parenting readers, which means you can use the service for as little as $10.80 per month when you sign up here
