“As we continue to redefine what it means to be a ‘Barbie’ or look like Barbie, offering a doll with vitiligo in our main doll line allows kids to play out even more stories they see in the world around them,” a Mattel spokesperson said in a statement emailed to multiple outlets.

The brand also has plans to release a doll with darker skin and a gold prosthetic limb along with a Barbie with no hair in June, further expanding the Barbie Fashionistas collection. Currently, the doll line includes 176 dolls with nine body shapes, 35 skin tones and 94 hairstyles.

With so many rave reviews, this hot-selling doll has sold out several times on Amazon, where this particular Fashionista doll isn’t available again until Feb. 9 — but we found it in stock at Walmart.
