The global coronavirus pandemic means outdoor summer fun will be a little harder to come by this year, so many parents are bringing the joy home. There’s plenty you can do to keep kids active and engaged right in your own backyard, from stocking up on outdoor toys to buying interactive water tables

This fun pool float, called the Tube Runner, from PoolCandy is flying off the virtual shelves as families prep for the warm months ahead. It features an electric nozzle propeller that is controlled by a joystick. The float moves in any direction, including 360-degree spins, and can accommodate up to 250 pounds. It’s also easy to set up — inflate the float, add batteries (six D batteries, not included), and you’re good to go. This is definitely the pool float to have this summer!

You can use this tube in your very own pool, pack it up to take on vacation, or try it out in a local lake. We love the idea of family races in this float and not having to push and pull our kids around the pool all day long.

If you’re able to steal this away from your kids some much-needed R&R, definitely take advantage of the built-in cup holder and comfy pillow — that alone is worth the $130 price point. If you want to splurge a bit more check out this Motorized Pool Lounger — complete with an elongated footrest — to really relax in style.

These floats join a myriad of other fun outdoor toys sold at Hammacher and Schlemmer. You can find a Three Player Aquatic Arcade and inflatable Rainbow Arch Sprinkler, to name a couple, guaranteed to brighten up any day spent at home.

Summer has never looked so fun!
