Walmart’s List of Top Toys for 2020 Is Epic — and Surprisingly Affordable
Shop Story

We know parents are inundated with toy options for their kids year after year, making the holiday shopping experience a bit overwhelming. Luckily, Walmart recently revealed its top toys for 2020, helping parents (and kids) narrow down their picks.

The list features 36 of the hottest toys for kids of all ages, and many mirror the challenges families have faced during this unprecedented year. “This year’s Top-Rated by Kids Toy List reflects the shift we’ve seen in toy trends and behaviors this year,” Steve Ronchetto, vice president of Toys at Walmart, said in a press release. “Toys play a critical role in families’ lives as they spend more time at home, and parents seek ways to keep kids engaged with learning-based play.”

Walmart also reported trends in STEM, digital platforms, and kid-influencer brands such as the ever-popular Ryan’s World toys. Of course, parents are searching for interactive, educational, screen-free, and active outdoor toys for their kids to make staying home a more enjoyable experience for everyone.

Families that are continuing to navigate at-home learning and less physical activities due to social-distancing regulations will love the toys Walmart featured on its list. The Jetson Mars 2-Wheel Folding Kids Kick Scooter, Sensory FX ASMR Mega Bar, and the VTech KidiZoom Creator Cam are all perfect toys to keep kids entertained at home and are sure to bring mega-watt smiles come holiday time.

Walmart is also hosting its first-ever 2020 Top Rated by Kids Toy Awards Show, which is airing October 25 on FOX. We got a chance to talk to co-host Meghan Trainor who says, “It’s an honor to be a part of something that’s happening for the first time ever with Walmart, especially because it’s a family show where kids got to vote on their favorite toys!”

Trainor also revealed her favorite toy when she was little, “Santa got me my first keyboard ever and I kept it for 14 years! ” and that she is most looking forward to building a jungle gym for her baby on the way! As for the singer’s favorite toy on the Walmart Top Toy list she says, “I love the Spark Puppy piano, perfect for future superstars.” Be sure to tune in to watch Trainor and a slew of other superstars and fun toy surprises on October 25.

As an added bonus, Walmart also launched the Walmart Wonder Lab, an interactive website that allows kids to unbox, test, and play with toys online. If they decide they like the toy, they can add it to a virtual toy box, where parents can look to make the holiday shopping experience fun and easy.
