ThirdLove Launched a Brand New Nursing Bra That Moms Will Love

ThirdLove offers mom a firm foundation for finding a new nursing bra that is not only functional but fits beautifully.

It’s no wonder why so many women are completely hooked on ThirdLove’s incredibly comfortable bras. This month, the popular lingerie brand focused on providing the perfect fit for women of all sizes, has launched a brand new nursing bra style designed to give expectant and breastfeeding moms a boost along with some much-needed support. The new design, accessorized with pretty gold alloy hardware for added polish, is crafted in super soft Pima cotton fabrics. It features an adjustable hook and eye closure, drop-down cups for easy access for pumping or nursing and memory foam cups that conform to the body. Available in A to I cup sizes, the new 24/7 Classic Nursing Bra not only gives mamas a stylish lift but takes the guesswork out of searching for the best-fitting bra style. We spoke to ThirdLove’s Head of Design and Chief Creative Officer Ra’el Cohen who shares details about the new collection (which also includes ThirdLove’s first maternity-friendly underwear) along with what to look for when selecting the best nursing bra style.

Can you tell us about the new ThirdLove collection and the unique style features?

Pregnancy is a demanding time—both physically and emotionally—and motherhood comes with a whole new set of challenges (I’ve been there!). We set out to make a great bra that checked all the boxes for new and expecting moms. Our nursing bra provides sizing flexibility with an additional hook and eye closure on the back that can be adjusted to comfortably fit your changing body. We also wanted to elevate some of the details on the bra to feel truly beautiful (and less “utilitarian”), so we swapped out the plastic drop down cup closure with beautiful gold alloy hardware instead. In order to provide even more sizing options, we also made the bra available in cup sizes A-I.

What should expectant and breastfeeding moms look for when buying a nursing bra?

Flexibility is key. A nursing bra should be able to adapt to a changing body and provide comfort through the fit and fabric. We chose Pima cotton for our newest nursing bra because it’s luxuriously soft and breathable against even the most sensitive skin. As an expecting or new mom, your bra should be the last thing you have to think about!

Does the ThirdLove’s Nursing Bra have an underwire? Is it safe for moms to wear underwire when breastfeeding?

Yes, the newest 24/7 Classic Nursing Bra does have an underwire. It’s meant to be worn as a more functional piece when you’re ready to go out in the world after having a baby. There used to be a concern that underwires could lead to clogged milk ducts, but there’s no medical evidence to support this. In fact, most new moms prefer the added support an underwire provides. However, it’s a personal decision, so we also offer a wireless option if that feels more comfortable!

Many new breastfeeding moms mistakenly believe they don’t need a nursing bra. Why is it a must to buy a quality nursing bra?

After having a baby, nursing or pumping can feel like a full-time job. As a new mom, I remember being surprised at how often I needed access to my breasts (taking a regular bra on and off just wasn’t an option). New moms fluctuate quite a bit in size when they’re nursing, and investing in a comfortable, supportive bra that can accommodate the transition is an investment you’ll definitely want to make.

What sizing advice do you have for moms who aren’t sure what size to buy?

Pregnancy and postpartum brings about so many changes, and your breasts are no exception! Your rib cage may expand, and your breast tissue also enlarges. We recommend going up a band size and up one to two cup sizes from what you regularly wear when purchasing a new nursing bra.
