Celebrity Baby Names We Love

Celebrity Baby Names We Love

Celebrities often give their kids some wacky names (Cricket? North?). But every now and then, we hear a classic or unique celebrity baby name that’s not too out there. So check out these celebrity baby names we love.

Charlotte

Daughter of Chelsea Clinton and Marc Mezvinsky

The “Charlotte’s Web” book by E. B. White comes to mind on this one, which may have been a popular book for 34-year-old Chelsea Clinton to read as a child. Either way, we’re still digging it, as shown in our Top 10 Baby Girl Names.

Ophelia

Daughter of Dave Grohl and wife Jordyn Blum

Foo Fighters frontman, Dave Grohl, and his wife, Jordyn Blum, welcomed their third child, Ophelia Saint, in August. She joins big sisters Violet Maye and Harper Willow, names we also love.

Emerson

Son of Lindsay Price and Curtis Stone

Celebrity baby names can be quite eccentric, but the former “Lipstick Jungle” actress and celebrity chef dad stuck with conservative name, Emerson Spencer, for their second baby boy to follow their 2-year-old, Hudson. Maybe they just like the ending “son?”

Briar Rose

Daughter of Rachel Bilson and Hayden Christensen

These actors took a name right from the Disney movie version of “Sleeping Beauty,” where Princess Aurora is taken into hiding by her fairy godmothers and raised under the name Briar Rose to protect her from Maleficent’s curse.

Charlie

Son of David Arquette and fiancée Christine McLarty

Arquette must have a thing for “C” names. He also has a 9-year-old daughter, Coco. We’re happy to see Charlie is making a comeback.

Asa

Daughter of Justin Bartha and wife Lia Smith

This “National Treasure” star picked a slightly different name than all of the “Avas” running around when he named his daughter, Asa Charlotte. We like this new take on it!

Finn

Son of Owen Wilson and his personal trainer Caroline Lindqvist

In Gaelic, the meaning of the name Finn is “small blond soldier.” Finn joins his 3-year-old brother, Robert, which means, “famed, bright, shining.” Robert is Wilson’s child with ex-girlfriend Jade Duell.

Hazel

Daughter of Emily Blunt and John Krasinski

These actors picked an up-and-coming name, popularized by one of the characters from the book and movie “The Fault in Our Stars.” Hazel started growing in popularity in 2004, but it really took off when Julia Roberts used it to name her daughter. It’s been steadily increasing in popularity since and peaked in 2014.

Otis

Son of Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis

We think these actors blended two old-fashioned names together really well with little Otis Alexander. Otis is cool and bluesy, a la Otis Redding, but it was also an upscale, high-society name of the past. Tobey Maguire picked it for his son, too!

Mia

Daughter of Zara Phillips and Mike Tindall

We just love keeping tabs on this British family. Zara, the second-eldest grandchild of Queen Elizabeth II, and her husband picked THE most popular name in Australia in 2014. G’day, mate!

Charlton

Son of Robbie Williams and his wife Ayda Field

This name easily brings the upper-crust actor, “Heston,” to mind. The pop star and his wife already have a 2-year-old daughter, Theodora “Teddy” Rose Williams.

Gus

Son of Poppy Montgomery and husband Shawn Sanford

“A name. THE name. The name that my unborn son will carry with him for the rest of his life. What if I mess it up?” Montgomery wrote. Well, we don’t think she messed it up with Gus Monroe; we love it! The “Unforgettable” actress welcomed her third child to join older siblings Violet Grace and Jackson. Gus is one of the grandpa names that has become surprisingly youthful and popular again.

Konrad

Son of Scott Foley and his wife Marika Dominczyk

The “K” instead of the “C” to start this name makes it unique for this “Scandal” star. Konrad joined big sister Malina and brother Keller at home.

Kaiser

Son of Jenelle Evans

Although usually associated with a type of roll, this “Teen Mom 2” star chose this name, which means “emperor,” for her son. It’s a cool, but not too bizarre, celebrity baby name.

Hunter

Son of Josh Holloway and his wife Yessica Kumala

Although the name peaked in popularity in the early 2000s, it’s still ranked 34th as a popular name for boys. Hunter joined the “Lost” star’s daughter, Java, at home.

River

Son of Daniela Ruah and husband David Olsen

This “NCIS: Los Angeles” star named her first born to go with the flow. Although a bit of a unique name, actor River Phoenix made this name popular again. River has transcended its hippie-commune origins and has become a strong, outdoorsy name.

June

Daughter of Marshall Allman and his wife, Jamie Anne

The “True Blood” actor and his wife, star of “The Killing,” used their due date to name their daughter, although she ended up being born in May. June joins twin brothers Asher James and Oliver Charles.

Frankie

Daughter of Drew Barrymore and husband Will Kopelman

Meaning “free one,” this name is just so stinkin’ cute. The name peaked in the 1930s, and we’re glad it’s back!

River Rose

Daughter of singer Kelly Clarkson and husband Brandon Blackstock

This unique name just rolls off the tongue for this pop singer’s daughter. And although it might be more popular as a boy’s name, it makes a beautiful girl’s name, too.

Josie

Daughter of Scott Caan and his girlfriend Kacy Byxbee

This “Hawaii 5-0” star picked a name that was popular in the 1880s, but we like how this name has made its way to modern Hollywood.
